content in weakness

I ENCOURAGE you all to make sure if you have a Driod or iPhone, that you upload the Crossroads app from our website www.crossroadswired.com I LOVE the fact that I can get on each day with the Bible reading plan and read right from my phone or LISTEN from my phone!  Yes, you can click on the audio version and just sit and listen - such a BLESSING!  I am determined to read through the Bible and this is just a fabulous tool!

Ok, done with the advertisement.

One of the passages I was reading today was from I Corinthians 12:10 where Paul says, "For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.  For when I am weak, then I am strong."

I never thought about the fact that accepting weakness is a choice.  I feel very weak often.  Most often is when I face criticism and endless suggestions on 'how things should be done'.  This takes my strength and effectiveness away.  It never occurred to me that I choose whether to do things in my own power or to except and abide in my weakness in order to truly SERVE HIM AND HONOR HIM! This is an important teaching!!

I certainly have known in my head from years of study and being taught, that our only true power is in Christ but have I ever really, really believed this and CHOSEN to accept and remain in it so He can be honored?

So what does it mean "when I am weak, then I am strong"?

Weakness is the place in which we learn the most and lean the most.

My commitment to the Lord today is to be content in my weakness.
