weekend report

I say this every weekend, but, man...it was great to be at Crossroads this weekend!

It was just one of those weekends where everything flowed, volunteers and staff were amazing and I was thankful to be there! Everyone was excited to be involved serving!

Jocelyn our worship leader, created lyric videos that ran during our music bringing a fresh look to the lyrics as well.

Pastor Dave wrapped up a great series called "Doubting Doubts" and people hated to see it end!  So thankful for such Biblically based teaching - strong theologically and teaching just absorbed by the congregation!

Take a look!

This was part of our strong praise team this weekend

weekend report

Our faithful worship team lead us strongly!

Our lobby - Town Square full of all kinds of things going on!

It was an interesting weekend at Crossroads!

Our poor pastor, returning from Cambodia became very ill and had to miss the weekend, so Wendell stepped in with very little warning to teach us!  Thank you so much Wendell!

It was a weekend with a lot going on - we had some new signage in Town square advertising all the Communities@Crossroads that are launching in March, as well as our Core Values (being taught during our Conspiracy series), our Students selling great shirts to support their mission trips in 2016 and a new sign over Connection Central, the area of Town Square where our pastors are available to pray with our congregation!   The Community@Crossroads groups include Biblical Teaching groups, Connection Groups and Classes.  It was very exciting to see just how many groups exist at Crossroads when we put together the new booklet!

You can click here to read about all of our groups and to register for classes or groups that require registration!  http://www.crossroadswired.com/connect/communities-crossroads-spring-2016

weekend report

It was another amazing weekend at Crossroads!

I watched groceries coming through the doors for next week's grocery giveaway, I helped several more people get signed up for the Global Leadership Summit Simulcast before Tuesday's cost increase - hard to believe that's not even a month away, and I listened to stories of more young couples beginning to attend Crossroads and their interest in our new Young Adult service!  In fact, Aaron Nicolas, our Young Adult Pastor taught the weekend message.  All of it is very exciting!

Our setlist:

Announcements:  Wendell Anderson

weekend report = Dr. Kevin Leman

What a weekend it was with more still to come tomorrow!

Dr. Kevin Leman was at Crossroads this weekend!   He taught the 3 weekend services plus a Sunday night seminar on marriage.   I've never laughed more in my entire life than I have this weekend!  And the really good news is there is still more to come!

Dr. Leman has an uncanny way of taking truths straight from scripture and presenting them in a way that is irresistible!  He makes you want your relationships to be as God intended and I'm sure many couples left tonight happier than they came!

We are blessed to have Dr. Leman with us and would love for any mom available to come tomorrow morning at 9:30 Moms Only Seminar - Or for anyone to come tomorrow night at 7:00 for 2 seminars on Parenting!

Just go to crossroadswired.com for all the details and to purchase tickets!

weekend report

Running a little behind on the weekend report!

It was so good this weekend to be at Crossroads!   The worship completely drew you in and Wendell's teaching was immediately applicable to our lives!  I was proud and thankful for my church family and all the work that went into this weekend across the entire ministry!
These are my brothers and sisters in Christ - leading us to the thrown!

As our pastor was called away to serve another amazing ministry just a couple weeks ago, I worried that we might become fragmented or individually focused, but what has happened instead is a God-movement among the staff and congregation.  Everyone stepping together into the next chapter of Crossroads, united and committed to the Lord!   So encouraging and exciting to watch!

All that to say the weekend was great!

weekend report

We enjoyed a great weekend of worship!

Our weekend services contained communion, beautiful worship music from our very talented team, a much needed teaching and another farewell and all of this lead us beautifully into our PROPEL read-thru-the-Bible event!

As I write this at 2:20 in the morning - various congregational members have been reading for 14 1/4 hours already - with several days yet to go.  We are reading through the Bible and praying as we begin our search for our next Senior Pastor!  It's been a day full of worship in the forms of painting, singing, reading and prayer - I feel extremely blessed to be part of Crossroads!

weekend report

Pastor Wendell led us this weekend.  He has a tough job, he manages our budget and he teaches us personally how to manage a budget and he teaches us about God's budget.

We always get complaints when there is a teaching about money.  People think it's theirs.  They are very deceived .  Maybe that's where the saying "the truth hurts" came from?  I was very challenged.

Yes, I already give but look how much I still have...can I justify that before the Lord?  Will He say "Well done good and faithful servant"?  Or will He say  - "wow, you had a lot"?  Challenging.

I am proud to be part of a ministry that tells the truth and challenges us, otherwise, why bother coming? Worship was especially sweet this weekend and I totally believe it's because we were obedient as a ministry - even if some people complain.  We aren't called to proclaim the truth and we did.

Our setlist:

I Will Boast - Baloche
Alive In You - Hillsong
Pastoral Prayer - Senior Pastor Tim Armstrong
Praise the Father, Praise the Son - Tomlin

weekend report

Oh my -

weekend began with Pastor ill - Wendell Anderson stepped up big time! We talked afterward about the fact that although we spend so much time worrying when our changed plans - God already knows who will teach, what will be taught and who will respond. Very comforting. Even the drama - originally intended to support another service - fit like a glove to support the teaching!

We are blessed often with team members bringing food on Saturday nights to feed the worship team/tech team volunteers! Saturday was no exception - Jackie Crawfis made us some of her amazing soup and also provided Shrimp Cocktails! Who eats like that before leading worship?? We do! Very blessed!

We gathered the team like always on the stage to ask the Lord to be very present this weekend...

The services rocked! 10 first time decisions for Christ! Worship was so, so, so amazing - drama - supported the message perfectly!!

Here is our setlist:
