My day off

I had the greatest day off today!

My hubby came home and told me we were going to celebrate my birthday! We had not been able to up to this point because it fell on Palm Sunday weekend - so away we went to Columbus this was such a great surprise!

He had plans for me at the Apple Store - so much fun - I felt like a kid!

As we were finishing our day we got a call that one of our closest friends was going into surgery- so were able to stop by and see him too. We were very thankful all went well!

This day was well worth the wait !

weekend report

Well, what else would we start with except...

Instrumental: Sweet Home Alabama

announcements

Worship: Rescue

Worship: Holy Is The Lord original by Chris Draper

Praise: Love The Lord

Praise: For All You've Done

Special Music: Talk About It Nicole C. Mullin This song done by our Senior pastor's wife, Michelle Armstrong and Beth Minnear really got the crowd excited! The phrases in the middle of the song "I am not ashamed", over and over really drew a 'hand raising' response from the crowd. The thing I loved about it the most was the creativity one of our worship leaders, Milo, came up with. He placed electric drums in front of the regular set, and used it only for this song and man the contrast of the sound when that special began was brilliant! Loved it! Great idea, I love my team!

Message: Be Sure! Pt. 2

Along the way we had fun celebrating Steve, our Media Coordinators birthday and teasing the sax guy about packing up to leave following the first service. He got confused and thought it was time to go! Good thing Pastor Tim and I were standing at the front doors greeting people! It's going to be a long time before he lives that one down!

birthday princess

The final celebration of the birthday weekend took place at Grandma Forbes' house today. We took Jocelyn's other grandmother with us too so all of us could be together!

Jocelyn loved each and every gift and went back to college with more than she came home with for sure!

Daughter's are a blessing I cannot even begin to describe. I honestly never thought God would bless Ron and I with a girl. I had been best friends and played sports with guys my whole life, I thought I wanted all boys. In fact I was honestly worried about how I could possibly raise a girl. I just really believed I would be a better parent to boys. God knew who He had for us, the daughter He wanted to bless us with, and Jocelyn can only be described as a blessing. It was a great birthday weekend, it is nearly impossible to believe that it has been 19 years. Life goes fast, I cherish each moment God gives us with our kids!

"Every little girl is a princess" a quote from one of our favorite movies, and it is so true - we tried to give her a birthday befitting a princess...she is our princess! Happy Birthday Joci!!
