weekend report

I loved this weekend so much!  The Reluctant Followers Series ended today - it has been a fabulous series and this weekend's teaching on Prayer was not an exception!  If you missed it I encourage you to watch it - such rich worship and it was so good to gain a greater understanding of what God intended our prayer life to be.

Our choir and praise band lead us straight to the thrown of God in worship!

Our setlist:

I got to personally talk to 5 people visiting for the first time this weekend - these conversations keep me encouraged and it just drives me more to see what new ideas and creative elements the Lord will point us to that will help us tell redemptions miraculous story!  I also had the privilege of talking to a sister in Christ who just got devastating medical news, I hope I was of some encouragement to her!  What an honor to minister to our congregation!

It's been another weekend of witnessing God's mighty hand at work as He gathers us together to proclaim His message to a hurting world!

Have a blessed week!

weekend report

It's hard to believe that another weekend is over - time is flying!

Pastor Dave did a great job communicating God's love while addressing sin in our lives.  So thankful for truth!

Our worship was engaging with a super informative time of Q & A at the end with our Senior High Pastor and Senior Pastor Dave Vance and a time of prayer where many felt lead to share very difficult things they are going through.  How privileged I felt to have someone that doesn't even know me share what they needed our help with and how much they valued our prayers.  Humbling to say the least that God could use me!

There is growth going on at Crossroads - I'm not just talking about numbers, I'm talking about
a movement among our next generations - preparing, growing in the Lord, serving...so good!

Here are pics from the ministry this weekend:

Jeanette Chase, I don't know how she does it!  She's our
Director of all the Family Ministries - does amazing work!
She graciously took care of announcements this weekend.
Sarah was one of our summer Worship interns and came
back to help us out this weekend!
Miguel is our other intern - he and Sarah are husband and wife
and completing school - I HIGHLY encourage husband/wife
interns - the best!
worship was strong and the congregation joined in like crazy!
student ministry vocalists are getting ready for next weekend!

Student Ministry band was busy preparing too!

And here are our elementary students preparing for worship leading!
Our setlist:
Since it was a 5th weekend our regular 4 worship teams take a break and we usually use the students, but we thought we'd save them for next week.  So our 3 staff worship leaders and our two summer worship interns lead with our band

Multiplied - our summer worship Cedarville intern Miguel lead this song beautifully!
Announcements:  Jeanette Chase, Director of Family Ministry
My Heart is Yours
From the Inside Out
Cornerstone

Message:  Pt. 7 The Design Confusion; Homosexuality - Pastor Dave Vance
Q & A - this segment was a Q & A about the most asked questions regarding this topic and our Pastor invited our High School Pastor to join him on stage.

Come As You Are - Closing song while people came forward for prayer
Dismissed with Prayer - Pastor Dave

weekend report

When a service contains an anointed teaching, the Lord's Supper and amazing worship - well, it's just a little taste of heaven.

This service came at the conclusion of a long week of multiple, unbelievably good events and opportunities to serve.  It was the perfect conclusion.

We anticipate the same this weekend as we baptize many Christ followers ready to publicly proclaim their choice to follow Him and their desire for their life to publicly show it!  A message I got today was from a friend telling me his entire family is going to be baptized, that made me rejoice all day long!

Here are just a few of the elements of our services this weekend shown in pictures.

weekend report

It was another amazing weekend at Crossroads!

I watched groceries coming through the doors for next week's grocery giveaway, I helped several more people get signed up for the Global Leadership Summit Simulcast before Tuesday's cost increase - hard to believe that's not even a month away, and I listened to stories of more young couples beginning to attend Crossroads and their interest in our new Young Adult service!  In fact, Aaron Nicolas, our Young Adult Pastor taught the weekend message.  All of it is very exciting!

weekend report

It was AMAZING!!!  Again!

The Lord is Good all the time!

The worship completely surrounded and pulled in all that were in the room.   It was irresistible as the Holy Spirit filled that room and used the musical notes to pave the way for spoken word and the Word of God to be strongly proclaimed!  So, so Good to be in the House of the Lord!

weekend report

Running a little behind on the weekend report!

It was so good this weekend to be at Crossroads!   The worship completely drew you in and Wendell's teaching was immediately applicable to our lives!  I was proud and thankful for my church family and all the work that went into this weekend across the entire ministry!
These are my brothers and sisters in Christ - leading us to the thrown!

As our pastor was called away to serve another amazing ministry just a couple weeks ago, I worried that we might become fragmented or individually focused, but what has happened instead is a God-movement among the staff and congregation.  Everyone stepping together into the next chapter of Crossroads, united and committed to the Lord!   So encouraging and exciting to watch!

All that to say the weekend was great!

weekend report

I have never been happier to be part of Crossroads than I am right now!  Our congregation has been amazing in the transition of Pastor Tim taking a different position - they seem to come even more anxious to worship!  It's a blessing!

Pastor Jay Halley blessed us by teaching us this weekend - I was so thankful he was able to come from Sandusky to worship with us and worship we did!

a special event

I've already spoken about the fact that it takes an entire team - working together cohesively to create a production like we enjoyed this past weekend.  Now I am ready to show you more of the results.  You may watch the service in it's entirety by going to www.crossroadswired.com click beside Last Week:  Watch Service

I am still getting feedback and tons of questions about different elements of the services, exciting when conversation continues after the lights go off!  Exactly what we hoped for - thoughtful consideration of the message and in God's timing - life change!  THAT is what we all prayed for !!

Sickness hit one team member after another.  But they pushed through!  Even tonight's rehearsal for this coming weekend got canceled until Saturday because Dan is ill.

Everyone involved in this past weekend worked diligently  - to allow the Lord to use them and I will always be very, very grateful.  It was such an amazing experience, I am anxious to begin planning next year's soon!

Please enjoy some of the images that I will always remember as one of the greatest team efforts in Crossroads' history.  (some are taken at rehearsal, some right before the service)

Happy to have Brian with us this year!

I couldn't help peeking through the drum cage for a shot!

Steve Feazel...just an amazing voice!

I was privileged indeed to lead this effort - bringing together amazingly talented musicians, singers and a brilliant technical team!  It was so beyond us that it was clearly God who was here - God who anointed these services and blessed those who attended. It was indeed a very special event!

weekend report

Sometimes simple is best.  And God blessed us with a simply excellent weekend.  Seriously, our volunteers work their hearts out to make the services as excellent as humanly possible- week after week!  And the services this weekend showed what hard work can produce - excellence and the 'look' of simplicity.  No distractions, just focused work that pointed everyone in attendance toward the throne!

I talked to young and old alike who were so glad they had come to participate in worship both in song as well as a magnificent teaching by Pastor Tim as he began the teaching series STORIES of Jesus.  We were all blessed!

Crossroads was so much fun Tuesday night! Our creative arts teams were working on preparing all the ingredients of Christmas.
