weekend report

Man, I don't think we could have stuffed anything more in this busy weekend!

From a beautiful time of communion to our amazing Young Adult Pastor continuing our Ecclesiastes series, to old chairs being removed from the auditorium, a wedding shower right after church, to groceries for the most needy in our community!   The Lord was in this place and it was so good!

Well, see for yourself!

Our praise team lead us in beautiful worship!  I'm so thankful for them.
Several of them served on an additional weekend this week
to help out - summer time is difficult with vacations!

Our Chairman of the Elders lead us in preparing to take communion.

This beautiful couple helped Eric shoot a video before first service!

This little guy played the part of a young 'Keegan' another
one of the guys in our video shoot today!

One of my favorite things about Crossroads is we welcome kids
to serve next to their parents.  Here's Pastor Jesse's little one is
the one using the screwdriver to loosen the Bible holder on the back
of the chair!  So cute!

I was worried it would be an overwhelming job to remove all
the chairs preparing for shampooing - but many hands make
a job simple!

At the same time the chairs came out - the groceries got moved
in preparation for our grocery giveaway next Saturday.

In the back were the supplies waiting for our massive
backpack stuffing event in a couple weeks.  We will stuff 2,300
backpacks with school supplies - for our areas neediest kids.
It's all the serving, and projects behind the scenes that make the ministry real!   We heard a powerful message and then 'did ministry' together...all of us!

my day off

I am enjoying a morning at home where I can hear the satisfying hum of my washer and dryer indicating domestic accomplishment, at the same time I sip coffee and enjoy staring at my Christmas tree - which glows beautifully against the very grey background of a gloomy, rainy Mansfield morning.

I am sitting down ready to hammer out the last few creative details of our Christmas weekend services...Lord willing!

This past week we shot video and worked all week long on tiny details that we pray will all come together as an offering to the Lord within our services.

Here is just a peak of what's to come - pray for us to be mindful of Him in the process and that we will prepare exactly what God will use to move people's heart toward Him.  That's all we care about!

video shoot

Today in 20 degrees, we shot video for 3 hours! I am honestly still quite frozen!

We shot a combination of 3 to 4 videos at one time. Hopefully we didn't leave anything out - we will soon see as editing begins!

Now on to the next project, stage design for Christmas...another busy week ahead!

a little manipulative

I have to be prepared tomorrow for a video shoot at Crossroads. Steve is preparing the space to shoot the video - my job was to write words on 50 tile, so....

I took the tile home - spread them across the picnic table- found the markers and waited for the college kids to arrive. Curious as to what I was doing it wasn't long until they jumped in and started writing! Mission accomplished - I am now in my bedroom working on the details of the weekend services while they finish the tiles and prepare for their Bible study!

A little pre-planning, things in place and curious students! Perfect!

working ahead

We spent our day working ahead mostly on Mother's day testimonies. It was so good to hear people testify to God's faithfulness in their lives. There is nothing more powerful then someones personal testimony, their story. No one can argue about your story.

It's not a theological discussion, it's not about what church you belong to, it's not opinion, it's fact and it's important.

Today two friends shared their story and it made me very excited about our Mother's Day services coming up - please don't miss it!

PS: To you Crossroads moms out there...most kids won't say no to an invitation to attend church with you on Mother's Day! Use it ladies, use it!
