This no driving is for the birds!
Please pray that I will have no other seizures so that I may once again begin to drive in early November! My poor husband has to run me everywhere and it's getting very tough on his schedule!
Many of you have offered me rides, but when you want to go somewhere at night or meet a girlfriend for coffee it's weird asking another friend to take you! (but I appreciate the offers!)
Today I left the house early with my hubby so I could be in town to get my haircut and spend time with girls at church tonight experimenting with some material for my art project for our November Vessel show. My attempts went so so...
This evening of scrap-booking, needle-pointing, molding and various crafts lead to a decision to meet once a month, the first Friday night of each month at Crossroads to craft. A small group is born.
So ladies of Crossroads (and beyond) if you have any kind of craft that you like working on, the first Friday night of every month Crossroads is the place for you!
You can check it out on facebook http://www.facebook.com/CraftingAtCrossroads

the report
I met with the Neurologist today. Again confirmed, I had a seizure several days ago.

Various tests today, still one tomorrow.
It is looking at this point as if they won't be able to pin point the exact cause, although some friends suggest my years of soccer could be a contributing factor!
Other friends are convinced it was brought on by lack of sleep and stress. Didn't think I was that uptight (no comments please! )
Regardless of the cause, my prayer is that it is just a one time event.
The verdict? No driving for 6 months. If another seizure? No driving for 6 months from that day.
The impact? Tonight my husband had to go grocery shopping with me! ha ha ha!!
We are of course GREATLY BLESSED by working together.
Although a loss of independence is quite a change for sure dependence on Him... well, that should be something I constantly practice!
I completely trust my Creator.

facing forward

I followed a pick up truck with a man and his dog. If the man ever faced forward as he drove I didn't see him do it! I am not kidding, the guy's head turned back and forth looking everywhere except straight forward! I have seen this in many men as they drive.
I keep my eyes straight forward when I drive. Mostly out of the fear of hurting someone else and partly because I usually am not interested in anything except my destination. This is not only how we should drive but also how we should live, facing forward. There are certainly things we need to pay attention to along the way, but we need focus and know where we are headed.
When I do get distracted looking this way and that, it always has consequences.
I sometimes wonder what opportunities I didn't even see due to 'looking around' instead of facing forward. Funny thing is I have had many opportunities lately to encourage others to keep moving forward, walk in His will only, don't compromise. I need to listen to my own advice. And although I don't spend my days committing horrible sin in the world's eyes - Jesus had to die because of sin like gossip, and pride, and jealousy and stinginess too! Think of that! Not one of us are without sin and not one of us are without need of a savior. Facing forward means doing what He called each of us to do on this earth, it is not that hard to discover what you are created to do. Just face forward - keep moving toward God - live obediently, study God's Word and move forward, straight forward!
