preparing for services

I have fully enjoyed today - a day of completed writing for various websites, finishing a presentation for next week, finishing the ironing and now trying to wrap my focus on tonight and tomorrows services at Crossroads.

This takes intentional preparation in order to be focused before this evening begins. (Focus always takes great effort for me!)

My prayer for our services is that our congregation will take next steps, what ever that looks like in their life. Next steps that lead closer to Jesus.

If we don't prepare well we will distract from the message that is why it is vital to prepare.

This weekend we have the privilege of being lead by the Crossroads youth praise team - the future of Crossroads! So exciting that they are already being developed and trained for serving at Crossroads! I pray that our multi-generational worship will be sweet to the Lord! See you there!

weekend report

Great weekend coming off of the Willow Creek Small Group Conference Simulcast here at Crossroads - today we will tear our entire ministry apart in preparation for our annual Harvest Party on Wednesday! If you are within driving distance you really should be here to see the masses that attend this free event!

Pastor Tim's message answering the question of, "Don't All Religions Lead to God?" was outstanding, you can watch it at www.crossroadswired.com tomorrow - including downloading the transcript!

Although we had tech problems with our headsets, preventing clear video communications, our amazing volunteers pushed through and the message was clear.

My favorite line from worship this weekend was "Your kindness leads me to repentance..." I have heard this song 100 times, why this stuck out today is weird. I grew up feeling that guilt, or a harsh father figure God is what forced me toward repentance...but His kindness does...very cool private worship moment for me!

Our SetList:

Pre-Service video by one of our artists
Announcements: Joseph Gillum
New Praise Song: This Is Your Song - Tommy Walker
Praise song: Mighty To Save - Hillsong
Worship: You Are Good - Gateway
New Praise Song: God You Reign - Brewster
Praise: Let God Arise - Tomlin

Message: Don't All Religions Lead to God

Exit Song: God You Reign

God Bless Your Week!

cannot wait to gather

I am so looking forward to being back at Crossroads in just a couple of hours! We have great things planned, things that we will lay at God's feet as our worship to Him. Things that we have spent the last couple weeks working on, preparing to honor Him. Things that we pray will prepare people's hearts to receive His message. What a privilege - we are truly blessed! I hope you can join us this weekend!

weekend report

I know, I know, I always say the same thing, but, I am telling you God was in the house!

I received countless comments on the worship and on the most amazing teaching series about Contentment ever! I even got a phone call this afternoon about how much people loved it and were so thankful for all our team's hard work. I don't say these things to pat myself on the back, I could plan from now to eternity, but our Technical and Worship teams work so hard, and are so great I have to brag about THEM! It all came together and I think God was pleased!

We opened the final weekend on Contentment with what else...

Don't Worry Be Happy!

announcements

authentic worship

I just experienced one of the most authentic worship times in my life! I walked across the auditorium to listen to the sound levels and stopped far to one side for a while.

As I stood and began to worship, I noticed a 'mentally challenged young man' worshiping. It was one of the most moving times of worship I have ever experienced.

He had a freedom to express himself that I have never felt. He could have cared less who was watching, I often wonder who is watching me. He was filled with the Holy Spirit at a level that most 'normal' people never reach. Complete surrender, unaware that he may be the only one with a true understanding of our Savior.

I will look for this young man in the future and try to stand near to him during worship so I can also leave cares behind and become overcome with love for our God and express it freely!
