weekend report...among other things

It was another powerful weekend at Crossroads!  Pastor Dave started the Desperation Series today by teaching on 'Fighting Desperation', this is going to be a great series of study and worship!  I heard multiple comments on what the service meant to them - I'm so thankful!

To listen to Part 1 of Desperation - go to crossroadswired.com on Monday and click on Messages to find the message you want to listen to.   This weekend's message goes up Monday.

I'm so thankful for our praise team and their dedication!

Our setlist:

Jeanette Chase our Director of Family Ministry took care of announcements for us, as we anticipate hosting the simulcast of the Global Leadership Summit next Thursday and Friday! (there are still tickets available on our website)

I've just never been more thankful for our church and all it's doing to reach people for the Lord! There were more first time visitors in attendance again today that we got to show around and still others signing up to be baptized next Sunday taking next steps in their spiritual maturity!  Nothing more encouraging!

As we prepare to learn from some of the top leaders around the world this week at the Global Leadership Summit, I've been reading Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership.  In it I've read about Moses' leadership journey.  Quite the story!  A major part of his surrender to the Lord involved solitude.  An extended time alone with the Lord.  I love this description of the work of solitude.

Just as the physical law of gravity ensures that sediment swirling in a jar of muddy river water will eventually settle and the water will become clear, so the spiritual law of gravity ensures that the chaos of the human soul will settle if it sits still long enough.

I hope to grab a little solitude, to sit still before the the Lord this week and prepare well for all of the leadership principles I'll get to learn and be reminded of at the end of the week.

I pray your week will be full of some 'settling' and listening to the will of the Lord!

We think it's been close to 10 years since Crossroads has had a women's retreat, so we decided it was time!

We can plan, and pray and hope and create, but when all the ladies began to sign up it became real and we were so thankful!  92 girls attended the Crossroads retreat at Sawmillcreek Resorts Friday and Saturday!

These are my Crossroads girls!  Sisters for eternity!

I don't get a lot of time to invest in ladies outside my immediate ministry circle, so I was unaware of how hungry for time with these girls I was!  We have amazing ladies at Crossroads and it was so good to be with them!

For all of you who were unable to be with us, the next ladies event will be Friday, July 21 we're taking a bus trip to Grove City Outlets in PA!  Watch your programs in the coming weeks for more sign up information.

So we came home, and then we had an amazing weekend hearing about the progress in our 2020 campaign!  And seeing the building the Lord has provided, so good!  Watch this!

weekend report = Dr. Kevin Leman

What a weekend it was with more still to come tomorrow!

Dr. Kevin Leman was at Crossroads this weekend!   He taught the 3 weekend services plus a Sunday night seminar on marriage.   I've never laughed more in my entire life than I have this weekend!  And the really good news is there is still more to come!

Dr. Leman has an uncanny way of taking truths straight from scripture and presenting them in a way that is irresistible!  He makes you want your relationships to be as God intended and I'm sure many couples left tonight happier than they came!

We are blessed to have Dr. Leman with us and would love for any mom available to come tomorrow morning at 9:30 Moms Only Seminar - Or for anyone to come tomorrow night at 7:00 for 2 seminars on Parenting!

Just go to crossroadswired.com for all the details and to purchase tickets!

coffeemate rules!

We started our work day with a free coffee mate party - complete with many breakfast food selections from our amazing Family Ministry Director, Jeanette Chase. Jeanette entered us to win a free party and she got chosen!

The party came complete with free creamers and some prizes for several of us who got chosen to receive even more free
creamer coupons! SO FUN!

We even invited the 'plastic people' who
have been hanging around the office ever since they participated in our Christmas services.

Pictured here is Deering after just a little too much coffee! Save us all!!

In the final picture you can see the plastic people got so excited that they spilled their creamer...can't take them anywhere!

Our staff sincerely appreciates all of Jeanette's fabulous cooking and the efforts to get this party for us!
