God's will

All my friends care deeply about God's will for their lives. We all talk about being in His will or our lives would be wasted!

So question...if this is how we are to spend our lives, seeking God's will, then why is it so hard to find? Or is it?

Maybe it is as simple as being in the Bible and in prayer, listening to wise counsel from trusted more mature believers, being willing to walk through doors the Holy Spirit reveals to us, watching for opportunities He provides to use the abilities He has gifted us with. It isn't about us "doing things" to discover God's will, but rather to remain in Him, being content even in times that feel like He is not revealing Himself to us.

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6

Being in God's will may be the closest peak at eternity with Him that we get. Worth the pursuit!

In conversation with Tim tonight I told him that I felt that I had wasted so much time asking God, "What do you want from me? What do you want me to do?". Today in my journal I wrote that I realized that God was way more concerned about what He was doing in me! Sometimes we complicate the simple things!

Hi Lori, thanks for dropping by today.

as i see it we can make it seem so hard because we spend so much time listening to that 'voice' inside our heads... the voice that has been created along with our body and comes, as the body does, from the Earth (with some help from our parents) ;-)

It knoweth not God, merely pretends it does so we can listen to it some more.

In order to listen to God's Will we need to learn how to silence that voice - or pay it less attention than we do to the voice of our Soul.. which can often be very hard to 'hear' over the closeness to us of the physical 'mind' voice.

If we learn that secret (and one or two others) His Will will be all we ever do (as opposed to 'wanting' to do).

Patience and discipline are necessary skills to achieve this.

It is not so 'hard', but to many it is not so 'easy' either. :-)

The spirit is not always as 'obvious' to our physical body as we might wish.

Humbling our (earthly) 'self' is also essential i believe.

love,
