"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us...Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God. For this reason the gravest question before the Church is always God Himself, and the most portentous fact about any man is not what he at a give time may say or do, but what he in his deep heart conceives God to be like."
What comes to my mind when I think about God...
I don't know if I've ever really, really asked myself what I think about God.
I know this, I act at times as if He exists FOR me instead of the FACT that I exist for Him. To worship Him, forever. He is the King of Kings, the Beginning and the End, the One who was and is and is to come.
God is holy.
This was the sun preparing to set tonight... the heavens declare the glory of God. |
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is no heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."
Psalm 19:1-4
If even the "rocks" will cry out - how can I be so clueless about his magnificence ? He is the bright and morning star.
I was reading this evening outside when I turned and shot this picture - just as I read the above passage from Psalm. It seems to me over and over that God longs to reveal Himself to me by showing me tiny glimpses of His magnificence.
I guess it's not surprising that when God comes to mind I have no way of really understanding everything that He is because He is and was and always will be. But I want so badly to understand Him!
Francis Chan asked this question .."Can I worship a God who isn't obligated to explain Himself to me?"
My answer is - I will worship Him BECAUSE He's a God with no obligation to explain!!
