my day off

I'm in a season where I'm clinging to the Word of God more intensely than ever. I need Him.
And I've perhaps taken that relationship for granted instead of being intentional and truly being able to say Christ is FIRST in my life.

I was reading this morning and came across this statement by Beth Moore,

"Most of the time life on earth has to get pretty miserable for us to long for our heavenly home."

Sad but so true.

Philippians 3:18-21

For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk
as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their
belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our
citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that
enables him even to subject all things to himself.

WHY do we have to struggle to long for heaven when our eternal citizenship is with Him?

This is my prayer today, that I turn my focus from the good and bad things of this life and live every day as it it's my last before joining Him for all of eternity. This certainly is only possibly in HIS power and strength.

People will always disappoint us because we all have times that we fall to temptation - CHOOSING to believe that the things of this world can satisfy the longings we feel!!
