in a crisis

Margot with great grandma Forbes

It's always fascinating to watch the rest of the world keep right on moving, normally, uninterrupted even though you find yourself in the midst of crisis.

As we approached The James Hospital today with my mom, I watched airplanes fly overhead, hundreds of cars driving past, birds resting on branches and the drive thru restaurants steady flow of hungry guests pulling in and out.  All the world seemingly normal, except ours.

We've been waiting since 3:00 p.m. today to get my mom admitted at The James Hospital in Columbus.  It's now 1:30 a.m. and we're still in an ER room.

They say the mass they see on her kidney is 6" in size and her blood pressure is off the charts high.

We're waiting.

I've watched her today, one minute participating as we try to make her laugh and talk, the next staring into thoughts of the unknown.

I wish I could make it all ok, to return to what we consider normal, and for all of us to be safely tucked in our own beds - but, for now this is our new normal.  And we'll walk beside her through it, not yet ready to lose her, selfishly praying God's not ready to take her home...

Please pray for our mom, that the mass will be operable and that normal may once again be ours.

Isaiah 41:10-13

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.

Praying for your momma, your family, and you.
