I have gone once again from empty nest to very, very full - the way I LOVE it!
We have the privilege of housing 8 or so college students this weekend as The Gunshow prepares for their Saturday evening show at Berean Baptist Church.
You should all come down!!
Anyway, it's loud, very, very loud in my garage right now, but, the boys are back and having great fun! Wouldn't have it any other way!
As I sat there I couldn't help but wonder, if I died would people come? Of course my friends and immediate family would, but, beyond that?
Have I affected people's lives enough that they would take time off of work to come? Have I impacted anyone outside my immediate circle so much that they would alter their schedule for a day to come? Who knows...
I could see cars going down surrounding streets as I sat there, busy with their lives. Oblivious to the deep loss of the family inside.
It made me wonder how many people I have passed by without a thought to what they may be going through. How many opportunities to share the life changing message of Christ - did I walk on by...
I sat with 50 people yesterday who came to pay respects and who came to say goodbye - funerals bring perspective, a renewed eternal perspective.
Of course in ministry there is never an end, thank goodness. So, as we packed up Rebecca - we sat up communion and baptism for tomorrow night.
The college Small group stayed most of the day today to help us, and they ended the night by helping set up the baptismal for tomorrow. Now anytime you get young adults involved - the process gets just a little unorthodox, but, it gets done!
Bet your church never set up baptism this way?? Hope to see you at First Wednesday at 7:00 tomorrow. Good night - I'm exhausted but it's been amazing!!
We just waved goodbye to Rebecca St. James' bus. What a blessing they were to have here at Crossroads! Close up and personal...we had so much fun!
How great that Rebecca travels with her family - these are two of her 5 brothers! God sends each of us down different paths when we serve Him. And sometimes our paths cross very special people. Tonight mine crossed paths with amazing people! Very cool!
